USCIS Mandates Updated Form I-485 for Green Card Applications
  • 02.26.2025

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has made the updated version of Form I-485, used for Green Card applications, mandatory. The new form, released on December 10, 2024, includes revised questions and instructions.

Form I-485 is the application that foreign nationals must complete to adjust their legal status to that of a lawful permanent resident in the United States.

USCIS has announced that starting February 10, 2025, it will only accept the October 24, 2024 edition of Form I-485. Applications submitted using older versions will be rejected. To avoid delays in the Green Card application process, applicants must use the latest version of the form.
