Updates on Extension/Change of Status Applications
  • 24.03.2020

USCIS application, petition, or immigration requests are affected due to ongoing COVID-19 circumstances. Fortunately, USCIS made some changes in their regulations in order to make the processing run more smoothly.

When applying for an extension or change of status based on a special situation such as COVID-19 that prevented your planned and timely departure, the USCIS may take into consideration how the special situation prevented your departure.

Accordingly, if any delays occur in the applications for the extension or change of status before your authorized period of admission expires, the USCIS may excuse the delay if it was due to extraordinary circumstances beyond your control.
